Milford, Ohio, is a historic city located along the Little Miami River in southwestern Ohio, just northeast of Cincinnati. Founded in 1796, Milford grew around a strategic river crossing and became an early settlement thanks to its position on the Little Miami River and proximity to Cincinnati. The city played an important role in regional trade and milling during the 19th century.
Milford is now a hub for outdoor recreation, largely due to its location on the Little Miami Scenic Trail, one of the longest paved multi-use trails in the U.S., running over 70 miles through southwestern Ohio. This trail connects with other greenways and regional trail systems.
A central part of Milford’s modern outdoor identity is Roads Rivers and Trails (RRT), an independent outdoor outfitter in downtown Milford.
Nearby, The Junction is a revitalized area that links several trails, parks, and the downtown business district. It serves as a major convergence point for cyclists, walkers, and paddlers, with amenities like parking, rest stops, and access to the Little Miami River and Trail.
